On December 22, Daniel Barenboim leads the Boulez Ensemble and soloist Emmanuel Pahud (flute) and Sophie Dervaux (bassoon) in a program of Shostakovich, Francesconi, Beethoven, and Carter.
After premiering the work last season, Emmanuel Pahud, Daniel Barenboim, and the Boulez Ensemble return to the complex sonic maze of Luca Francesconi’s “Daedalus.” The program is completed with compositions by Shostakovich and Beethoven, as well as the late Elliott Carter’s Flute Concerto.
