This summer, Daniel Barenboim performs in concert and recital across Europe and Asia. Starting with a tour in Japan, Barenboim performs a series of recitals featuring Beethoven’s Piano Sonatas in Tokyo (June 2, June 3, and June 4), Osaka (June 7), and Nagoya (June 9). Barenboim then travels to Vienna, where he performs two recitals of Beethoven Sonatas on June 13 and June 15 at the Musikverein.
On June 28, Barenboim travels to Paris, performing at the Philharmonie de Paris with members of the Boulez Ensemble in a program of Debussy, Boulez and Jörg Widmann. Next, on June 29, Barenboim conducts the Staatskapelle Berlin in a concert featuring Beethoven’s Violin Concerto performed by Anne-Sophie Mutter, followed by two more concerts with orchestra on June 30 and July 1, featuring the Beethoven Symphonies.
Following his performances in Paris, Barenboim performs the second piano concerto of Brahms with Zubin Mehta and the Orchestra Del Maggio Musicale in Florence on July 6. Later in August, Barenboim conducts the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra in a concert featuring violinist Michael Barenboim and cellist Kian Soltani performing Brahms’ Concerto for Vioiln, Cello, and Orchestra at the Waldbühne in Berlin (August 14).
