On Wednesday February 29, Daniel Barenboim conducts the Staatskapelle Berlin in a special benefit concert that supports the major renovation of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden theater. This exceptional musical event will take place at Berlin’s Philharmonie and will feature Russian soprano Anna Netrebko singing works by Strauss, Verdi, and Boito. Barenboim has served as General Music Director of the Staatsoper Berlin since 1992 and iscurrently conducting performances of Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro throughout the month of February at the Staatsoper im Schiller Theater, Berlin.
