Barenboim leads the Staatskapelle Berlin in Berlin & Hamburg

This May, Daniel Barenboim leads the Staatskapelle Berlin in three concerts in Berlin and Hamburg.

The concert brings together three distinct artists from three distinct cultures in one evening of music. The program includes the Greek composer Nikos Skalkottas’s “Kleine Suite,” Russian modernist Sergei Prokofiev’s cantata “Alexander Nevsky” and Mozart’s Piano Concerto in B-flat major. Mezzo-soprano Anita Rachvelishvili joins as the soloist for “Alexander Nevsky.”

Performances begin in Berlin on May 13 (Staatsoper unter den Linden) and May 14 (Philharmonie Berlin), continuing in Hamburg on May 15 (Elbphilharmonie Hamburg) as part of Hamburg International Music Festival.
