Barenboim leads West-Eastern Divan Orchestra in 2016 summer tour

This summer, co-founder Daniel Barenboim leads the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra on its 2016 summer workshops and tour.

Barenboim and the Divan return to Buenos Aires for their annual residency at the Teatro Colón from July 24 through August 6, 2016, performing the music of Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Berg, Ginastera and more. Legendary pianist Martha Argerich also reunites with Barenboim at the Teatro Colón for a duo recital on July 31.

The orchestra–an experiment in coexistence co-founded by Barenboim and the literary scholar and public intellectual Edward Said in 1999–will then travel to Europe for appearances at the Salzburger Festspiele, Lucerne Festival, and the Waldbühne Berlin.
