On February 19, Daniel Barenboim gives a matinee piano recital dedicated to the piano music of Franz Schubert at the Staatsoper im Schiller Theater. Barenboim will perform the Sonata in G Major D 894 op. 78 and the Sonata in C Minor D 958 (op. posth), keyboard works emblematic of Schubert’s full inventive and creative power. Barenboim’s program highlights the artistic dialogue between Schubert and his seemingly all-powerful role model Beethoven.
