Beginning November 29, Daniel Barenboim conducts Verdi’s Il trovatore at the Staatsoper im Schiller Theater. The production, directed by German filmmaker Philipp Stölzl, sees Plácido Domingo as Conte di Luna, Anna Netrebko as Leonora, Marina Prudenskaya as Azucena, Adrian Sâmpetrean as Ferrando, Anna Lapkovskaja as Inez, and Florian Hoffmann as Ruiz. Daniel Barenboim’s performances of Il trovatore in Berlin run through December 22.
