This October, Daniel Barenboim performs in concerts at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Pierre Boulez Saal, and the Philharmonie Berlin. On October 3, Barenboim conducts the Staatskapelle Berlin for the premiere of the German version of Luca Francesconi’s opera Quartett, with additional performances on October 8, 10, and 18. On October 7, Barenboim joins the Boulez Ensemble for performance of works by Beethoven, Schumann, and Francesconi at the Pierre Boulez Saal. Closing out the month with the Berlin Philharmonic, Barenboim conducts Smetana’s Ma Vlast at the Philharmonie Berlin (October 22, 23, and 24).
