On September 9, the Pierre Boulez Saal launches its fourth season, with Daniel Barenboim and the Boulez Ensemble performing an evening of Beethoven, Bartók, and Boulez.
Since the founding of the Boulez Ensemble, Boulez’s sur Incises has formed a central part of the Ensemble’s repertoire. For this performance, the piece is paired with with Béla Bartók’s 1937 Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion and Ludwig van Beethoven’s Sonata for Horn and Piano.
