Performing Beethoven’s Sonatas at Pierre Boulez Saal

Beginning December 20, Daniel Barenboim returns to Pierre Boulez Saal, performing Beethoven’s Sonatas as part of the ongoing celebration of Beethoven’s 250th anniversary.

An inimitable interpreter of Beethoven’s Piano Sonatas, Barenboim first played all 32 sonatas in 1960 at the age of 17. This season, Barenboim presents these works in chronological order of their creation at the Boulez Saal—providing an exciting look at the composer’s artistic development.

Performances continue December 23, 26, and 29.
