On July 9, Daniel Barenboim, curates and hosts “A Festival of New Music” with flutist Emmanuel Pahud. Over the course of the four-day festival, new works by ten of today’s leading contemporary composers – Irini Amargianaki, Benjamin Attahir, Johannes Boris Borowski, Luca Francesconi, Michael Jarrell, Philippe Manoury, Olga Neuwirth, Matthias Pintscher, Christian Rivet and Jörg Widmann – will receive world premieres at the Pierre Boulez Saal. All the musicians and composers involved have generously donated their time and work as a call to solidarity, encouraging donations to initiatives designed to help musicians and other artists through these difficult times. All four concerts will stream live, free of charge, at the venue’s website, Facebook page, and YouTube and Vimeo channels.
The festival runs Thursday, July 9 through Sunday, July 12 with performances beginning at 6pm CEST.
