From November 24 through December 14, Daniel Barenboim conducts five performances of Camille Saint-Saëns’s Samson et Dalila at Staatsoper Unter den Linden.
The Damián Szifron production stars mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča as the Philistine temptress Dalila opposite baritone Brandon Jovanovich as the seemingly invincible Samson. The cast also includes Michael Volle (High Priest of Dagon) and Kwangchul Youn (Abimélech).
Barenboim conducts November 24, 27, and 30 and December 11 and 14. Additional performances run December 3 and 7, conducted by Thomas Guggeis.
