As Daniel Barenboim performs Mozart’s music with the Vienna Philharmonic on tour and at home in the Austrian capital, the maestro looks ahead to two performances with the Philharmonic that juxtapose Claude Debussy’s music alongside Arnold Schoenberg’s. Joined by violinist Michael Barenboim, the maestro will open his May 23 and 24 concerts with Schoenberg’s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra. He and the Orchestra continue the program with Debussy’s La mer and symphonic poem Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune.
