Beginning June 3, Daniel Barenboim and the Staatskapelle Berlin explore the music of Bruckner and Mozart on tour in Germany and Austria, including a ten-day residency at Vienna’s Musikverein. They begin their performances with Bruckner’s Fifth Symphony at Hamburg’s Laeiszhalle (June 3), followed by two performances of Bruckner’s Sixth Symphony alongside Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 at Berlin’s Philharmonie (June 4 & 5). From June 7 to 17, Barenboim and the Staatskapelle present a complete cycle of Bruckner’s symphonies at Vienna’s Musikverein. They pair several of these performances with Mozart piano concerti, featuring the maestro at the keyboard. Barenboim and the Staatskapelle Berlin have recently released a highly acclaimed recording of Bruckner’s Seventh Symphony. You can learn more about the album here
