General Music Director Daniel Barenboim conducts the Staatsoper Berlin in Verdi’s Macbeth. The production by Harry Copper sees performances by Plácido Domingo in the title role, Anna Netrebko as Lady Macbeth, Kwangchul Youn as Banquo, Evelin Novak as the Maid, Fabio Sartori as Macduff, and Florian Hoffmann as Malcolm.
Barenboim leads performances on 17, 21, 24 & 29 June and 2 July, and the production will be staged once more in May 2019. Audiences in Berlin can see a live broadcast of the opera on 17 June in the Bebelplatz as part of the 2018 Staatsoper für Alle festivities.
