This week Daniel Barenboim explores the music of Franz Schubert in recitals at the Salzburg Festival and the Dubrovnik Summer Festival. The maestro returns to Salzburg for three all-Schubert programs. On August 15, he performs the Piano Sonatas in G Major (D894) and C minor (D958). On August 20, he plays Four Impromptus (D935) and the Piano Sonata in A Major (D959). Barenboim rounds off his Salzburg Festival appearances on August 24 with Four Impromptus (D899) and the Piano Sonata in B-flat major (D960).
As part of his all-Schubert performances, Barenboim will give an open-air recital in the Atrium of the historic Rector’s Palace in Dubrovnik, Croatia on Saturday, August 18. The maestro’s performance is part of the 63rd annual Dubrovnik Summer Festival.
