Barenboim explores Schubert’s piano works in Salzburg and Dubrovnik

This week Daniel Barenboim explores the music of Franz Schubert in recitals at the Salzburg Festival and the Dubrovnik Summer Festival. The maestro returns to Salzburg for three all-Schubert programs. On August 15, he performs the Piano Sonatas in G Major (D894) and C minor (D958). On August 20, he plays Four Impromptus (D935) and the Piano Sonata in A Major (D959). Barenboim rounds off his Salzburg Festival appearances on August 24 with Four Impromptus (D899) and the Piano Sonata in B-flat major (D960).

As part of his all-Schubert performances, Barenboim will give an open-air recital in the Atrium of the historic Rector’s Palace in Dubrovnik, Croatia on Saturday, August 18. The maestro’s performance is part of the 63rd annual Dubrovnik Summer Festival
