German tenor Jonas Kaufmann will join Daniel Barenboim at Berlin’s Philharmonie on September 30 for a performance of Schubert’s Die schöne Müllerin. The classic song cycle depicts the unrequited love of a wandering miller, with poetry by Wilhelm Müller set to music by the master lieder composer, Franz Schubert. The intimate recital is part of an ongoing series of solo and chamber concerts presented by the Staatsoper Unter den Linden.
