Following performances of Tosca and Tristan und Isolde at the Staatsoper Berlin as well as concerts with the Staatskapelle, Daniel Barenboim returns to the Teatro alla Scala to conduct Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra November 6 to 19, 2014. The production, directed by Federico Tiezzei, sees Plácido Domingo starring in the title role alongside Tatiana Serjan, Orlin Anastassov, Fabio Sartori, Artur Rucinski, and Ernesto Panariello.
Looking ahead, the La Scala Music Director opens the new season in Milan on December 7 with Beethoven’s Fidelio. Performances take place December 7, 10, 13, 16, 20, and 23.
