This weekend with the Wiener Philharmoniker, Daniel Barenboim conducts a program comprising Schubert’s Symphony No. 8, “Unfinished” and works by Pierre Boulez. Barenboim leads the French composer’s Livre pour cordes [Revised for string orchestra], Mémoriale (—explosante-fixe—originel), 1985, and Originel. Boulez’s Originel will feature sound direction and live electronics by Christina Bauer und Noid Haberl, developed and implemented by IRCAM.
The performances take place at the Viennese capital’s Musikverin on November 1 and 2, 2014.
